About Barry Taylor...
PGA cup player Barry Taylor has carded an impressive haul of over 134 victories since turning professional. and has been Lancashire's No1 ranked PGA professional 7 times.
Based out of his Golf Lab in Clarkes Golf Centre Rainford, Barry offers technology driven golf lessons that are based on accurate data as well as years of knowledge and experience. Barry believes that any golfer, whether professional or novice, should always be striving to improve and through a combination of well delivered lessons, information provided by the latest golfing technology and your hard work and enthusiasm that he can improve your game.
As a Senior PGA Instructor, Barry not only brings teaching qualifications but an impressive playing career that includes a wealth of experience - and more importantly - a winning mentality. In 2014, Barry was nominated for the PGA of Europe's Presidents Grow the Game Award and is the current Lancashire under 14's Programme Coach. To date, he has coached his students to 14 club championship victories and is the present coach of a member of the Lancashire Ladies Team. He has a Collegiate Tour Qualifier amongst his students and has already guided his first Professional student to victory.
However, Barry is at ease teaching golfers from professional level right through to beginners who are picking up clubs for the first time. In the last 12 months he has helped coached one of his students to bring his club handicap down from 19 to 9. All this improvement in under 1 year!
As a player, Barry has had enviable success and the highlight of this wonderful career so far has been representing GB & Ireland against the United States under the captaincy of Gary Alliss at the Carrick in 2009. He is the 7 time Lancashire order of merit winner and is 7 times Lancashire professional Matchplay champion. He has won the regional qualifying for The Open Championship on three occasions and was a Challenge tour member between 2006 and 2008.
Barry won the prestigious Lancashire Open at Blackpool North Shore in both 2007 and 2009. More significantly, he has excelled himself over the famous Open Championship venue of Royal Lytham and St Annes having won the Lancashire Matchplay title there for the past five years. This in itself is a phenomenal achievement and further proof of his all round talent and potential.
He topped the Tamsel Tour Order of Merit in 2008 and has done likewise on the equally competitive Players Tour. The list of achievements goes on and on, and is simply further proof of the quality of golf that he has played. This experience is now the foundation of his teaching methods to help aspiring golfers reach their goals.
Barry has a first -class reputation as a teaching professional and his pupils range from primary school children to club champions and fellow professionals. His utilisation of modern teaching techniques, including Flightscope™ technology in all his lessons ensures that his students are receiving the best possible levels of tuition and are at the forefront of golf coaching.
